Clock Dial Restoration
Price List
Every clock dial is individually assessed before any restoration work is carried out. In
most cases, just a sympathetic clean to restore the details.
The image below shows a 30 hour dial undergoing transformation,
The top left hand corner shows how all corners were, on receiving the dial.
A nice coat of gloss paint and some brass spandrels screwed on!
The bottom left hand corner is as the paint is removed, the bottom right hand corner shows a partial repaint and the top right shows the finished result - as per the original design. Normally I would start restoration from the center of the dial and work outwards, but this dial is for display purposes only.

This moon phase dial had a fracture to the top. Once repaired this was then filled and repainted to match. The moon dial was cleaned and the whole dial touched in. To see a close up in greater detail, please click on the above image.
This automaton dial had suffered loss of paint to the arch and figures, the figures were also severely pitted by rust. To see a close up in greater detail, please click on the above image.

Before and after restoration. This dial from an American Ogee wall clock
originally had a printed finish, but the resoration has all been done by hand.
Before restoration, this dial was extensively photographed. The new paintwork
faithfully reproduces the original dial which was originally given as a
Salvation Army prize in 1900.
This brass and silver longcase dial by Francis Jersey of London
(Circa 1760), required re-silvering to the chapter ring, seconds ring,
cartouche and tablet. The spandrels have also been cleaned and polished,
as has the dial plate, before re-assembly.
