Dial repair and restoration is a very labour intensive task, and the minimum time to undertake any work is 3 weeks. All dials are extensively photographed before, during and after repair.
If repairs to dial feet are required this is not included in the prices below. These can be undertaken but repairs such as this damage the dial further and greater restoration needs to take place.
When restoring a dial, many things have to be taken into consideration such as repairs, regilding, removing old varnish, restoration to spandrels etc. These prices are intended as a guide only, if you can supply a description and photograph beforehand, we can give a more accurate quotation.
Printed dials. The costs of having a 20th century dial re-printed are extremely prohibitive. The alternatives are to fit a new dial, repaint by hand or use a technique we have developed for a computor generated dial finish. Please contact us for price comparisons.
